How it works

Clear aligners are a series of custom-made, removable trays that straighten your teeth without brackets or wires.

Each near-invisible tray is worn for a couple of weeks before you move to the next in the series, with every set shifting your teeth a little closer to their final position. Because they’re removable, you take them out to eat, brush and floss as normal.

Aligners suit a wide range of mild to moderate cases and are especially popular with adults who want a discreet option that fits around work and social life. For the best results they need to be worn 20–22 hours a day.

Care & hygiene

Aligners are easy to live with, as long as you stay consistent.

Rinse your aligners every time you take them out and brush them gently before putting them back in. Only ever drink water while wearing them — other drinks can stain or warp the plastic.

Keep up your usual brushing and flossing, and store each set safely so you don’t lose any trays mid-treatment.
